WWII Veteran Rick Carrier shares war experiences on November 10th

WWII Army veteran Frederick (“Rick”) Carrier, a Chelsea resident, shares his war stories on November 10 at St. Peter’s Church, Chelsea.  A dynamic and decorated storyteller, Mr. Carrier landed in the first wave of the Normandy invasion, served in five major European battles, including Gen. Patton’s last battle, and discovered Camp Buchenwald.  For his distinguished service he has been awarded the prestigious French Legion of Honor.

Where: Hosted by St. Peter’s Church, Chelsea, 346 West 20th Street, NYC  When: Monday, November 10, 6:30-8 pm, including refreshments following talk.

Suggested donations:  $20 (adults); $10 (seniors/students) and free for veterans and First Responders.  Donations will benefit the much needed restorations of historic St. Peter’s Church.

    It’s been a great week for Rick as he will be presented with the insignia of the Legion of Honor on Nov. 7, 2014 by Mr. Guy Wildenstein, president of the American Society of the French Legion of Honor. It is France’s highest distinction and well deserved!
