We can’t meet, but we can read and discuss …

As you probably know, CCC has, like most organizations, felt compelled to cancel its worship services and in-person activities for the foreseeable future in an effort to help combat the spread of Covid-19.  Nonetheless, there are things we can do together as a community.  Our speaker at this Sunday’s worship service (March 22) was to have been Rev. Valerie Holly. She had titled her sermon “An Important Conversation Then and Now.

The scriptures she had selected from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible are Genesis 16:7-13 and John 4:5-15, 24-30, and 39-42. You can find these passages at www.biblegateway.com, in almost any version of the Bible you prefer. “The main scripture for my sermon,” Dr. Holly indicated, “is from the Gospel of John. Since March is Women’s History Month, I am looking at how John describes the way God uses the Samaritan woman to engage, communicate, and to demonstrate the worth of women and God’s love and welcome to all people.”  We invite you to read the scripture  passages in consideration of her theme, and to post any comments and questions you may have. Let’s see if we can use THIS forum as a way to come together and share community…  Please participate via the “leave a  comment” option in the upper right.
